Abstract
The contribution of small and medium enterprises of the food industry in the manufacturing sector to the GDP of
Mexico is rather considerable, yet they face enormous tasks trying to stay in the market and gain a competitive

Tehuacan and Torreon show that one of the main aspects is achievement orientation. Additionally, we
demonstrate that creativity, ability to take risks, absorptive capacity and strategy, are at a minimum acceptable
