Abstract
This article is based on the results of an exploratory study about financial behaviors of informal footwear
entrepreneurs in Bogota, Colombia. It contains an analysis of entrepreneurs who specifically have never had a
loan with a micro financing institution. The article contains the analysis of their answers related characteristics
they prefer in a financing institution and, in case they have an informal loan, why they decided to use informal
credit instead of other type of formal loan.
