The Simplicity and Complexity of Reading Comprehension

Abstract
The complexities of being able to comprehend often include intricate and detailed processes. Reading
comprehension is an essential skill for one to understand what is being read and comprehension skills must be
developed and refined over time. This article will explore a variety of effective strategies for teaching reading
comprehension to students of all ages, focusing particularly on strategies for emerging or struggling readers. It
presents strategies, assessment tools, and teaching interventions that might help improve student reading
comprehension skills. In addition, the article introduces different technologies that can be integrated to help
increase reading comprehension.
